As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and providing strategic insights to drive business growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management accounts, and regulatory reports in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Ensure strict adherence to tax regulations, including VAT returns and corporation tax filings.
- Conduct monthly and annual audits, liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
- Oversee the monthly payroll process and ensure accurate payroll calculations and deductions.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing variance analysis and recommendations for financial improvements.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and financial reporting systems.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or CIPFA) is essential.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role within the UK.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent understanding of UK tax laws, VAT regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
