Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in strict accordance with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations.
- Manage general ledger reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
- Assist in the annual audit process, providing clear documentation and supporting the external auditors.
- Lead the monthly budget vs. actual analysis and provide variance explanations to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all company financial policies and internal controls.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions to create financial models and forecasting tools.
Qualifications
- Full professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 4-5 years of post-qualification experience in a UK-based accounting environment.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in an urgent hiring scenario.
- Strong ethical standards and attention to detail.
