Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records, including account reconciliation and variance analysis.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounting workflows and reduce errors.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure all financial activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, and assist external auditors during annual reviews.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accountants and collaborate with cross-functional teams on budget preparation and forecasting.
- Payroll & Tax: Assist in payroll processing and prepare necessary tax documentation to ensure timely and accurate filing.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP), QuickBooks, and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage).
- Analytical Ability: Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Tools: Familiarity with tax preparation software and automated accounting systems.
