Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and prepare accurate financial statements for a portfolio of UK-based clients.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of VAT returns and corporation tax calculations.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct variance analysis and prepare detailed monthly management reports.
- Assist in the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance.
- Advise clients on financial best practices, budgeting strategies, and regulatory changes.
- Maintain strict adherence to internal control policies and data security protocols.
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualified (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a UK-based firm.
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
