In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the integrity of our financial data, ensuring accuracy in reporting and strict compliance with UK tax regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end monthly financial reporting, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow analysis.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely reconciliation of all bank accounts and credit cards.
- Prepare and file accurate VAT returns and assist the finance director with year-end statutory audits.
- Monitor budget versus actuals and provide actionable insights to management.
- Ensure strict adherence to UK GAAP and internal financial controls and policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic planning and budget preparation.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification (or final year student with strong academic record).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, preferably within a remote or hybrid environment.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Deep understanding of UK tax legislation, including Corporation Tax, PAYE, and National Insurance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on clarity and professionalism.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities in a distributed team setting.
