Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, including month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliation of accounts, and variance analysis.
- Compliance & Tax: Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure all local, state, and federal compliance requirements are met for clients.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement best practices for remote bookkeeping and reporting.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that drive business decisions and strategic planning.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for financial inquiries, providing clear and professional updates to clients regarding their financial status.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA certification is a significant plus).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or virtual work environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-Starter: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently in a remote setting.
