Responsibilities
- Process multi-state payroll for hourly/salaried employees including garnishments, commissions, and bonuses
- Ensure compliance with federal/state labor laws (FLSA, CA labor codes) and IRS regulations
- Manage time and attendance systems, resolving discrepancies and processing adjustments
- Prepare/reconcile payroll tax filings (941s, state withholding reports) and year-end forms (W-2s, 1099s)
- Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and HR with detailed documentation
- Collaborate with HR on benefits administration and 401(k) contributions
- Conduct quarterly payroll audits and maintain SOX compliance documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience with multi-state compliance
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or comparable HCM systems
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred
- Advanced knowledge of CA labor laws and IRS tax regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in reconciliations
- Experience with garnishment processing and court-ordered deductions
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
