Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and credit card transactions on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely invoicing and payment processing.
- Conduct internal audits and financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure all financial data is securely stored and backed up in compliance with company policies and SOX requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and local tax laws.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong attention to detail with superior organizational and time management skills.
