In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial reporting meets the highest standards of accuracy and timeliness.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full cycle of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements in strict accordance with GAAP standards.
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation, schedules, and explanations.
- Assist in the preparation of federal and state tax returns, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial reporting systems, forecasting models, and internal controls.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and participate in the ongoing development of departmental procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Macros).
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with local New York tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
