Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Payroll Management: Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, as well as provide support for external audits.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the accounting department and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of US GAAP and tax regulations.
- Work Ethic: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
