Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Compliance & Auditing: Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are organized and compliant with federal and state regulations.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the full cycle of A/P and A/R processes, including processing invoices, managing cash flow, and collections.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement best practices for efficiency.
- Tax Preparation: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings in collaboration with external tax advisors.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree (CPA) preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or professional services environment.
- Certifications: Active CPA license or CMA certification is a significant plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, macros).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy.
