Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the daily accounting operations, including the maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of journal entries.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Audit Support: Assist external auditors during annual audits and internal control reviews.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Compliance: Ensure the organization remains compliant with federal and state tax regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting and financial reporting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP and tax compliance requirements.
