Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including general ledger entries and month-end close.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements and variance reports.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and intercompany transactions.
- Assist in the annual audit process and ensure compliance with GAAP and local regulations (NY & OH).
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable operations to ensure timely billing and payments.
- Collaborate with the tax department to prepare quarterly and annual tax filings.
- Mentor junior staff and provide training on financial software and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate status is a plus.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in a corporate or high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and federal/state tax regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
