Responsibilities
- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, including quarterly estimated taxes.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for executive management review.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide training on accounting software and best practices.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants during year-end processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite).
- Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present insights clearly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
