Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Account Reconciliation: Conduct thorough monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Compliance & Tax: Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations. Assist in the preparation of tax returns and provide support during internal and external audits.
- Process Improvement: Streamline accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and taxes in accordance with labor laws.
- Cost Analysis: Perform variance analysis to monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize advanced accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) to manage complex data sets.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required; Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills are mandatory.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and relevant tax laws.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
