Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Oversee daily financial operations and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for monthly and quarterly review.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable processing and ensure accurate invoicing and collection of accounts receivable.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved immediately.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with annual tax preparation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual reviews and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement best practices for efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software; advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) required.
- Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of GAAP and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Certification: CPA certification is highly preferred but not mandatory for this role.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and discrepancies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
