Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with meticulous attention to detail
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budget forecasting and variance analysis
- Manage accounts payable/receivable cycles and optimize cash flow operations
- Conduct audits and reviews to ensure regulatory adherence and process efficiency
- Mentor junior accountants while maintaining compliance with SOX regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and advanced Excel functions
- Proven track record of managing full-cycle accounting operations
- Deep knowledge of Louisiana tax regulations and federal compliance
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder presentations and reporting
- Experience with ERP system implementations and process improvements
