Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end general ledger process, ensuring accurate and timely monthly and quarterly close procedures.
- Prepare complex financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports for internal stakeholders.
- Ensure strict compliance with GAAP, federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Manage the reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card statements, and intercompany transactions.
- Assist external auditors during annual audits and coordinate the preparation of supporting documentation.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the tax department to prepare and file necessary regulatory documents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification is strongly preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a public accounting firm or corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage) and ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macros.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
