- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly financial statements with accuracy and timeliness
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable/receivable processes and bank reconciliations
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Conduct internal audits and implement robust financial controls
- Collaborate with auditors during external reviews and tax filings
- Develop and maintain detailed financial reporting dashboards
- Mentor junior accounting staff and optimize department workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sector
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel (advanced functions), and ERP systems
- Expert knowledge of GAAP, FASB, and Maryland tax regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven experience managing month-end/year-end closing processes
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder reporting
