Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate records in the general ledger, perform month-end and year-end close procedures, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist in external and internal audits, ensuring all documentation is organized and accessible. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization within the accounting department and implement efficient workflows.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certification: CPA certification is highly preferred; CMA is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
