Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations including GL maintenance, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with variance explanations
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and tax regulations (CA state-specific)
- Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors annually
- Develop financial models and forecasts for strategic decision-making
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process optimization initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expertise in QuickBooks, SAP, and advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Proven ability to manage month-end close with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of CA tax regulations and multi-state compliance
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication abilities for cross-departmental collaboration
