Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for 15-20 portfolio clients including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) with variance analysis
- Oversee tax compliance processes including sales tax, payroll tax, and quarterly filings
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure SOX compliance and audit readiness
- Lead client advisory meetings providing strategic financial insights and improvement recommendations
- Mentor junior accountants while maintaining accurate documentation in accounting systems
- Collaborate with audit teams during external examinations and tax season engagements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or corporate finance
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms
- Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling
- Deep understanding of GAAP, IRS regulations, and California state tax codes
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and client relationships simultaneously
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for client presentations and reports
