Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct thorough bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Perform internal audits and implement controls to mitigate financial risk and enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making processes.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation for audit purposes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management.
- Proven proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
