Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict accordance with GAAP.
- Accounts Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze variances between actual and budgeted figures to provide actionable insights to management.
- Payroll Management: Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring tax withholdings and deductions are accurate and timely.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial operations comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
