Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present accurate monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all entries are recorded accurately and timely, including bank reconciliations and fixed asset management.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and cost accounting reviews to help management make informed budgeting and forecasting decisions.
- Compliance & Auditing: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and maintaining an audit trail.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Payroll Support: Collaborate with the HR department to ensure payroll calculations are accurate and tax filings are up to date.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a mid-sized organization or public accounting firm.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage 50) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical abilities with a meticulous eye for detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
