Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to stakeholders.
- Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including reconciling bank statements and credit card accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and coordinate with external auditors during annual reviews.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and reduce financial risk.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to management to support decision-making processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex financial data clearly.
