As a Senior Accountant, you will serve as a key partner to management, ensuring the integrity of our financial records and providing actionable insights to optimize our bottom line. You will lead a team of junior staff and oversee critical financial processes, from month-end close to complex financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full cycle of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage external audits and coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risk.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely filing with relevant authorities.
- Provide financial forecasting and budgeting support to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA certification is highly preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven experience leading teams and mentoring junior accountants.
