We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in the heart of Houston, TX. Responsibilities
- Manage the general ledger accounts and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and collections.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing detailed variance analysis to senior management.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and inter-company reconciliations to maintain data integrity.
- Ensure strict adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal control policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CMA designation is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the energy or corporate sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
