The Role
As a Remote Accountant, you will manage the financial health of our clients with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will work in a collaborative virtual environment, bridging the gap between our operational teams and our clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Perform bank reconciliations and internal audits to identify discrepancies and improve financial controls.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate deduction and benefit calculations.
- Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) to maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline financial reporting processes and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CMA designation is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect errors and resolve complex financial issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
