Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, ensure timely payments, and follow up on outstanding collections to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Payroll Processing: Handle payroll duties, including calculating wages, tax withholdings, and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, record journal entries, and ensure all financial data is up to date.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist the senior accounting team with gathering data for tax filings and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage is essential. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) are required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to manage large volumes of data with 100% accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and team members effectively.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and basic tax regulations.
