Your Role
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll process, acting as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries. If you have a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills, this is the perfect opportunity to advance your career in finance.
Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Accurately calculate and process weekly or bi-weekly payroll for all employees using ADP or Paylocity.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Data Accuracy: Review timesheets, leave balances, and payroll adjustments for accuracy before processing.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding payroll questions, deductions, and pay stubs.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and HR departments.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation in compliance with internal policies.
- Tax Filing: Assist with the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on payroll processing experience in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Paylocity, or Ceridian) and HRIS systems.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data integrity in high-volume processing.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts clearly.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or certification in Payroll (e.g., CPP) preferred.
- Time Management: Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Math Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate calculation of wages and deductions.
