Responsibilities
- Process Weekly & Bi-Weekly Payroll: Manage end-to-end payroll cycles for over 500 employees using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Compliance Management: Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal tax laws (CA-specific regulations) to ensure full compliance and minimize risk.
- Employee Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions, resolving discrepancies and providing detailed earnings statements.
- Leave & Benefits Administration: Calculate and process complex leave of absence, jury duty, and benefit deductions accurately.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly payroll reconciliations, including garnishments and tax filings, and generate accurate reports for management.
- System Maintenance: Assist in the administration of HRIS systems, updating employee data, and ensuring data integrity across all platforms.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of FLSA, wage and hour laws, and California payroll tax regulations.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and maintain high data accuracy standards.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to employees and stakeholders.
