Responsibilities
- Manage End-to-End Payroll Processing: Accurately calculate and process payroll for all employees (bi-weekly) using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring all timesheets, deductions, and bonuses are reflected correctly.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on Colorado state tax laws, FLSA regulations, and ACA requirements to ensure the company remains compliant and avoids penalties.
- Payroll Reconciliation & Auditing: Conduct monthly reconciliation of payroll accounts, including payroll taxes, garnishments, and 401(k) contributions, and perform monthly audits to prevent errors.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll questions regarding pay stubs, direct deposits, and tax forms (W-2, 1099).
- Benefits Administration: Assist in the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance enrollment and open enrollment processes.
- Report Generation: Generate and analyze payroll reports for management to provide insights into labor costs and budget variance.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing, preferably in a multi-state environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Ceridian) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) for data analysis.
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors, verify data integrity, and ensure 100% accuracy in financial reporting.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex payroll details clearly to non-finance staff.
- Problem Solving: Proven track record of resolving payroll discrepancies and handling sensitive employee information with discretion.
