Responsibilities
- Process and verify weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees with 100% accuracy.
- Reconcile payroll bank accounts and prepare necessary financial reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including FLSA and tax regulations.
- Administer employee benefits, handle garnishments, and process 401(k) contributions.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax forms (W-2s), and time-off balances.
- Collaborate with the HR department to update employee data and maintain personnel files.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related accounting role.
- Proficiency with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax calculations and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies quickly.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with staff and vendors.
