Responsibilities
- Manage month-end closing processes including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable cycles and optimize cash flow operations
- Prepare complex tax filings and ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations
- Analyze budget variances and provide actionable financial insights to leadership
- Implement process improvements in accounting systems (NetSuite experience preferred)
- Coordinate external audits and maintain SOX documentation
- Mentor junior accounting staff on best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance + 5+ years progressive experience
- CPA certification or CPA candidacy required
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, and advanced Excel functions
- Demonstrated experience with multi-state tax compliance
- Proven ability to manage competing deadlines with zero errors
- Strong analytical skills with financial modeling experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Preference for candidates with non-profit or ESG accounting background
