Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees accurately and on time using [Insert Software Name, e.g., ADP or QuickBooks].
- Calculate wages, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and bonuses in strict adherence to labor laws.
- Prepare and file necessary payroll tax reports, including 941, state quarterly returns, and W-2s.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax documents, and time-off deductions.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date payroll records and personnel files.
- Assist in the reconciliation of payroll bank accounts and general ledger entries.
- Stay current on changes in payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar financial role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards (specifically PA and Federal).
- Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks Payroll.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to create spreadsheets and analyze data.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect and resolve errors quickly.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on confidentiality and professionalism.
