Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.
- Develop, update, and communicate compliance policies and training materials to staff at all levels.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure transparency and timely reporting.
- Investigate compliance violations, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations to advise leadership on potential impacts.
- Provide guidance and training to management and employees regarding regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in compliance, auditing, or risk management.
- Relevant certifications such as CFE, CPA, CIA, or CCE are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of financial regulations, including SEC, FINRA, and state-specific laws.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations simply.
- Proficiency in using compliance management software and MS Office suite.
