Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, verify expenses, and ensure timely payment to vendors while tracking incoming payments from clients.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and according to GAAP.
- Payroll Support: Assist with the processing of payroll for a small team, ensuring tax withholdings and deductions are calculated correctly.
- Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process by gathering necessary data and completing assigned tasks within deadlines.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial records are kept in strict compliance with company policies and local regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional bookkeeping experience required.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage accounting software; advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) are essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Integrity: High level of professional ethics and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data.
- Schedule: Availability to work approximately 15-20 hours per week, with flexibility to cover month-end deadlines.
