Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, verify vendor statements, and ensure timely payments while tracking and recording all incoming payments accurately.
- Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets, for review by management.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger by performing period-end closing procedures and posting journal entries.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing and tax form preparation (W-2s, 1099s) as needed.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure all financial practices adhere to GAAP and assist with annual tax audits by providing organized documentation.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a part-time or remote capacity.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required) and Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping standards, and tax regulations.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
