We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join the Metro Financial Services team in Indianapolis. In this role, you will support our clients by maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations. Responsibilities
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Manage payroll processing for multiple clients on a bi-weekly schedule.
- Prepare and send monthly financial statements and budget reports.
- Assist with tax preparation documentation and year-end close procedures.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for all financial documents.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or general accounting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or Xero is required; familiarity with Excel is essential.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to detect discrepancies.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
