Responsibilities
- Accounts Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- AP/AR Management: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including verifying invoices and issuing payments.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial reports, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements, for internal review.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) to manage data entry and generate financial documents.
- Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes by organizing documents and verifying data.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial records are compliant with federal and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate or accounting firm setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Schedule: Must be available to work night shifts (e.g., 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM) and weekends as needed.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with the finance team.
