Responsibilities
- Process and post daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, with a focus on accuracy and speed.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts weekly to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are correctly categorized and documented.
- Prepare and generate accurate financial reports, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements, for morning review.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including accruals and adjusting entries.
- Respond to vendor and client inquiries regarding account status and outstanding balances.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for all financial documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a night shift or high-volume processing role.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot errors in large datasets.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision during night shifts.
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
