Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns ensuring compliance with IRS and state regulations
- Conduct tax research and provide guidance on complex tax issues for a diverse portfolio of clients
- Assist clients with tax planning strategies to optimize financial outcomes and minimize liabilities
- Collaborate with audit teams to ensure seamless coordination between tax and financial reporting functions
- Stay current with evolving tax legislation and communicate implications to clients and team members
- Maintain accurate client documentation and adhere to firm quality control standards
- Participate in client meetings to present tax findings and build long-term relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or Enrolled Agent certification preferred
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSystem fx, UltraTax)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize competing tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interactions
