Responsibilities
- Manage Daily Transactions: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all invoices and bills are recorded accurately and on time.
- Bank Reconciliation: Review monthly bank statements to reconcile accounts and identify any discrepancies or errors.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, ledgers, and general ledger entries.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate and organized digital and physical records of all financial transactions using accounting software.
- Assist with Payroll: Support the payroll process by collecting time sheets and verifying payroll data.
- Vendor Communication: Communicate with vendors and clients regarding invoices, payments, and account status.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Experience: Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience is not required, but a strong aptitude for numbers is essential.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is critical), with experience in QuickBooks or Xero preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors in data entry and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
