Responsibilities
- Assist with Daily Bookkeeping: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure all discrepancies are resolved and financial records are up to date.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist in the collection of documentation and preparation of basic tax returns under the supervision of senior staff.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Monitor general ledger accounts and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy.
- Compliance & Auditing: Assist with internal audits and ensure all regulatory compliance requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups). Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
