Responsibilities
- Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable/receivable processing
- Prepare financial statements and reports under supervision of senior accountants
- Support tax filing processes and documentation for individual and business clients
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks and other accounting software
- Perform data entry and reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Conduct basic audits of financial documents for accuracy and compliance
- Communicate with clients regarding financial documentation and inquiries
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (recent graduates welcome)
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive problem-solving approach and willingness to learn
- Valid Michigan driver's license (client site visits may be required)
