About the Role:
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional to grow within a stable organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, for management review.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and company policies.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts monthly to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns with the state comptroller's office.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits to provide necessary documentation and support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
