Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Accurately maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date and error-free.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely collection of accounts receivable.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to verify account balances and detect discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
- Payroll Support: Assist in processing payroll for small to medium-sized business clients, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Compliance: Ensure all bookkeeping practices comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and local tax laws.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small business or accounting firm setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; High School Diploma required with relevant certifications (e.g., NACPB, CPA) a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors, analyze data, and ensure data integrity.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to clients.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
