Role Overview
The Credit Analyst will be responsible for evaluating loan applications, assessing the creditworthiness of clients, and mitigating risk for the company. This is a high-impact role requiring a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of financial markets.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze financial statements, credit reports, and tax returns to determine creditworthiness.
- Calculate risk scores and assign appropriate credit limits based on established policies and industry standards.
- Prepare detailed credit analysis reports and presentations for the underwriting committee.
- Monitor existing accounts for deteriorating financial health and take proactive measures to mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with the sales and lending teams to provide timely credit recommendations.
- Ensure all credit decisions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update internal credit databases with accurate information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (preferred).
- 2-5 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or financial risk assessment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and financial modeling).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
