Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and market trends to assess borrower risk
- Prepare detailed credit memos and risk assessments for loan approval committees
- Monitor existing loan portfolios and identify early warning signs of potential defaults
- Collaborate with loan officers to structure appropriate credit facilities
- Stay updated on regulatory compliance (FHA, SBA, etc.) and industry best practices
- Utilize credit scoring models and financial analysis software for decision support
- Present findings clearly to senior stakeholders through written reports and presentations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- 3+ years of credit analysis or underwriting experience
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software
- Deep understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant certifications (CRCM, CFA) preferred
- Experience with commercial lending or SBA programs a plus
